| I watched the Resource Monitor (thanks Vista!) while I plugged/unplugged and noticed a bunch of IO activity that started up the second I plugged in. So - went in and turned off a bunch off services I didn't need that were running with the PID of whatever was starting up (in what universe do I need the "Tablet PC Input Service" running? Thank Vista :( ). Then I left it turned on and plugged in for a bit, figuring maybe it was some job that only ran when plugged in that hadn't had a chance to run for a while because I've been keeping it on battery power. Rebooted and it's great now.
