My first Caltrops dream. by Quentin Beck 08/27/2007, 7:12pm PDT A shaved headed musician was communicating secret information while explaining the stories behind his tattoos on TV. His first tattoo was inspired by a Beastie Boys concert he attended in 1972. The Beastie Boys weren’t around in 1972 and this clued us into his game. We Wikipedia’ed ‘Beastie Boys 1972’ and found some hidden and profound shit that I can’t remember. The next tattoo was on his back and it was a big picture of himself (kind of like Steve-O’s back tattoo), but on his lips were tattooed a constellation of stars. He said the tattoo was inspired by Daniel Day Lewis the Singer. We paused MySky (Tivo) and sketched lines between the stars charted on his lips, expecting perhaps a tiger or some shit, but found in fact that we had just stitched his lips shut! Holy shit! We Wikipedia’ed Lewis and found that there was a Daniel Day Lewis The Singer and a Daniel Day Lewis The Actor. In the photos, it was clear that it was the same guy, but he lived with a different family, in a different house, and pretended he was a different guy. Everyone believed his story. I made a post to Caltrops about it but I don't think anyone gave a shit.
