That's because I love too much. So when HL2 is all: "Cannot authenticate: 0235495843x; reset by peer", that hurts me. And maybe I say hurtful things back. I lash out in the heat of the moment - say things I don't really mean.
But now that we've had some private time alone, all is forgiven. Right now I'm inclined to regard Steam's frustrating authentication bullshit as the gaming equivalent of the petty relationship argument that always proceeds the wild, mind-blowing make-up sex. Could Valve have planned this: making everyone, everywhere appreciate how great HL2 is by teasing them with a frustrating install before wowing them? Probably not, but it's still a great fucking game once they let you play it. |
