Axis powers all have a draw back, Allies are free to do whatever they want (even throwing their tanks at the enemy for free replacements) :(
Yeah, I did a double take when I saw that power. Holy shit!
I think the reason they're never going to include Russians is because they stupidly gave every possible Soviet-themed ability to the Allies and Germans: swarms of tanks regardless of losses, infantry fighting regardless of losses, dudes shouting over megaphones.
Grenadiers are better than Volks at everything and have the best infantry based anti-tank available to them.
Yeah I'm seeing that now. I never bother getting Volks anymore. Save the manpower for just jumping to the grenadier building, using pioneers and machineguns to hold off infantry before that.
Stormtroopers are the best infantry in the entire game, grenadiers on steroids.
Knight's Cross are the toughest, but you'll never get them in a normal multiplayer game unless you've already won or it's gone on for far too long. They have no anti-tank.
I see no redeeming qualities to knight's cross at all. They're the most expensive (not counting command power infantry). They have ZERO special abilities: no grenades, no assault, no anti-tank, nothing. And for dedicated anti-infantry they sure aren't too good at it; they've lost pretty much every fight (vs upgraded squad) I've put them in. Three man super expensive squad: a sniper's wet dream.
Like Dawn of War Dark Crusade, the main problem is me not having a working CD key to play online. Pretty much every tactic but "turtle up until you build overwhelming force" fails against the computer, so I'm not getting into the mobile sneaky stuff like the airborne command branch. For the allies I pretty much go defensive for the early boost of riflemen building defenses then later on god's wrath in the form of howitzers. Armor seems like shit until the very end of the tree (Raid seems to be their only useful power before that). |
