| Seriously, what's the big goddamn deal? It's a comedy adventure game that isn't funny with lame puzzles. Tedious insult duels that require no thought, just gruntwork for 15+ minutes until you randomly learn the right ones. Even if they were funny (they're not) they'd get old after a minute. Remember Escape from Monkey Island's O.J. Simpson joke, back in 2000? Genius.
There's more FUNNAY in 5 minutes of any Space Quest or Quest for Glory game than the entire Monkey Island series combined. Fuck, River City Random and Super Dodge Ball were infinately funnier, and those had an actual game underneath it all. Other overrated humor game: Armed and Dangerous. Every professional review of this can't help but piss themselves telling you how LAUGH OUT LOUD hillarious the cutscenes are. The fuck? Here's every single cutscene in a nutshell: Knight: "I like tea!" Mole: "Scottish accents are endlessly hillarious." Short bald man: "Star Wars/Monty Python reference" Anyone who sets out to reference Monty Python and the Holy Grail is never going to produce anything funny. I'm pretty sure that's who the game's humor is for, people who are constantly laughing at each other's Monty Python impressions. |
