The game is padded out by the confusing level layout. If you knew where you were going at all times instead of wandering literally in circles or going out the way you came in, you could probably finish it in 6 hours.
But the experience of stealing a tank can help make up for that. When they talk about hijacking tanks, the whole "rip the hatch off and throw a grenade in" isn't some scripted animation. You climb on, you hit melee until the hatch is ripped off, you hit the grenade button to chuck one in, then you jump off, let the grenade do its work, and then the tank is yours. |
