It's been so long since I started thinking The Daily Show used to be funnier than it is now that I can only vaguely recall the time before. I think I remember deciding that it had jumped the shark somewhere around the week-long fifth anniversary SALE-abration of 2001, possibly just because that whole 2000 election DEBACEL turned John Daily into a household name and my mom started watching it and asking me if it was on tonight every night because it isn't on Fridays which means its schedule is COMPLETELY UNPREDICTABLE to my mom. So anyway the only clear memory I have of Dave Attell on TDS is getting really angry one time when he tried to pass his old standup routine off as a report on the Amish and John kept giggling before asking his (OBVIOUSLY SCRIPTED) questions as if that would make the whole package any fresher. And VH1 doesn't exist in Canada (thanks CRTC [not sarcastic]) so you evidently have mo' (ha) Rocca news than I do.
