I think BioWare is trolling me. by Jerry Whorebach 04/04/2007, 8:12am PDT So recently BioWare released three (3) screenshots from their upcoming 360 title, Mass Effect, without running them by PR first. I don't really care enough to go look at them, but appently they were pretty bad and the internet was justifiably upset. So, in order to prove that - and I quote - Mass Effect's graphics haven't been "dumbed down" (what does that even mean in this context?), BioWare today released a new, properly posed, downscaled, and doctored screenshot: Note the player-character's three dialogue choices, all of which presumably lead to the same node. They're making a game about guiding the thinking man's Richard Riddick through conversations consisting of "What?" "What?" and "More exposition plz" AND THEY'RE WORRIED ABOUT THE GRAPHICS LOOKING DUMBED-DOWN? I've hated BioWare ever since they decided Baldur's Gate II should be even LESS like Fallout than Baldur's Gate I, but this has lowered my opinion of them to a whole new level. It probably wouldn't bother me so much if there were another western-style RPG coming out this year, but there's not.
