The irony is that I've used soulseek exactly three times this year and kind of think it sucks now. Oink is currently my main music destination, but it helps that I don't have to worry about dumb ratio ideas and I don't attempt to post on forums that are stupid (or in general). I also disagree with Ray's belief that the multi-album torrents edict is bad, even while I got my giant ratio from seeding those, but that may be due to a difference between our downloading styles. For all the "complete" discographies I got from Oink, I probably could have gotten the same effect by doing some research and just downloading a few key albums. But of course, Ray's nuclear fallout-resistant RAID-6 setup versus my Maxtor hard drive in a $15 enclosure is a good indication of the difference in our collecting habits. |
