I'm better than the WSJ because I don't see these are two separate problems; I see one problem and one solution. The practical upshot of relaxed immigration policies is that I can finally afford to buy the friends I always wanted: an eclectic Volkwagen-commercial-esque cloud of refugees in clean and pressed gear from American Eagle. They laugh readily and love to dance or else they're fucking fired. I also think the British dude is way off when he talks about why Americans don't have friends. It doesn't have anything to do with having no time; it has to do with selective bias. Only the lonely are willing to chat with pollsters about their intimate failures. Maybe it's different in England? |
