- Yeah I figured it was something like "fortify magicka on target", which I was having a hard time finding for sale. Turns out all 4 scrolls are in the chest right next to the last NPC.
I keep hitting NPC allies in combat. Then they attack me. I've learned how to yield, but they're so weak at that point that the next scamp/goblin kills them. I'll have to get the cheap Heal Other spell from the Temple in Chorrol. So far I've been fucked for this twice:
- First fighter guild contract in Cheydinhal, one guy always dies in that fucking mine. Stop jumping in front of me, retard!
- Gate to Oblivion outside of Cheydinhal has a rescue quest attached. I'm not sure if it's even possible to rescue the retarded Knights, but I bet they'd live longer if I could have healed them.
Other stuff I have a hard time with so far:
- Lockpicks. It seems each moving part delays a different amount of time each time you push it up, so you can't time them carefully. Fucking coin flip.
- Thievery in general, I can't even beat that first competition yet.
- Tough to raise Mysticism, Alteration and Summoning. I just don't use them that often.
- I am NOT killing all of these oblivion gates. there isn't just one for every town, but seemingly two for every town and one for every ruin. I already beat Doom II, I won't be spending more time in Carmack's Hell for anyone.
Stuff I think I did right:
- I picked Atronach, which I learned from long practice with the last game. Once you are good at managing your magic, this is still the best sign to be born under. It's easy to make potions of sorcery (ingredients are common mushrooms) and many things recharge you: shrines, little blue fountains in oblivion, praying at temples.
- Join mage guild and fighter's guild early for free access to food stocks. They recharge every couple of days and you can crank potions of restore fatigue to get your alchemy up quickly and at no cost to you.
