What, like movie industry is going to ignore a possible outlet for their product, or that the console manufacturers will choose to lose features on their machines?
I've been playing DVD movies on my PS2 pretty much since the dawn of time itself, something which it had to be designed (and since we're talking about it, the manufacturing facilities for the console had to be conceived as being capable of installing said readers on it) to do.
This generation we had it easy, SVCD was still pretty much readable by normal CD-roms with only a few driver improvements. The NEXT generation, however, is taking things a little more to the extremes. To Blu or not to Blu is going to be a critical decision, if not for right then, but in retrospect when you're dead and people are tossing cigarette butts onto your grave from 50,000 feet-high gridlock. |
