Yeah, it didn't do much for the Darth Vader mythology to let us see him stumbling around, still unused to his new armor, looking like a guy who was maybe waiting in line to see this movie for 8 hours and suffering from heat exhaustion. :(
It was the best movie that Lucas could make given his previous efforts. Which isn't saying much. The square peg of the last two movies still didn't fit the round hole of the original three. The end scene with Vader onboard a Star Destroyer right out of Empire with Imperial Navy uniforms and everything, and the Death Star outside the window (timeline note: 19 years to make the first one? 6 months to make the second? WTF?) was really jarring.
Remember the fight scenes in Empire and Jedi where it really looked like Vader was trying to murder Luke and Luke was trying to murder Vader? I didn't see that in the fight between Kenobi and Faggot. Also, the great scene in Jedi where Luke and Vader fight from right to left across the screen in a continuous take . . . why couldn't we have more of that instead of cutting all over the place?
