The first and foremost Problem With Caltrops is the unchecked and undiluted vanity of the administration. The following examples suffice:
1. That it should take two full time admins to manage a forum which receives not 20 posts a day; and that, after this, it is decided that the problem is the posters and not the system. Chet for all his crazy managed several sites, several forums, a web hosting service, and his emotional crises.
2. That the domain and host are both owned - exclusively, in defiance of all offers to the contrary - by these same two admins who have proven themselves (tirelessly) to be paranoid with and barren without Caltrops.
3. When it came time to switch hosts, the admins selected, out of the thousands of web hosts available, one which fulfilled a gratuitous technical specification and carried with it a ludicrous content specification.
4. The admins persist in believing that somehow the Mighty Hammer Of the Law is going to drop on them, personally, apparently for Being On The Inter-Net. They are self-indulgent on this point, weaving fantasies of what-would and if that would make the Bushes of the world blush to admit to. Neither are they shy about enthusiatically pawning off the products of their paranoid masturbation on the collective Caltrops whole.
So enough about How Much The Admins Do. It's extorted flattery. The Admins make almost all of that work for themselves and loudly act like martyrs while doing it, and the audience of forum posters constitutes the smallest of their woes.
