Dungeon Siege = a barebones action-RPG-strategy game with all the action, strategy, and arguably all the GAME removed. Here's the FAQ I wrote for DS, in its entirety:
Dungeon Siege
Controls:
Press H to heal.
Press M to restore mana.
Click the left button every once in a while if, when you wake up from your inevitable slumber, you notice that your party members are just standing around surrounded by a mountain of corpses.
The moment you see that you have to cross a chasm by riding a mechanical platform, quit the game and uninstall it.
Congratulations! You've won! Or at least you may as well say you have since you've seen everything Dungeon Siege has to offer!
I read on a forum that a guy studied for his midterms while playing a LAN game with his classmates. Every so often, they'd look up and go FOLLOWING ME? I WAS FOLLOWING YOU. Otherwise, they finished the game without incident.

Ugh. I got bored with that game in record time. Hopefully Roberts is serious when he says that he has paid careful attention to the complaints about DS and believes that the sequel will actually feel like a game. For my action RPGs I turn to Baldur's Gate on the PS2 (and soon the new Fallout, assuming that GOD WILLING it doesn't suck) and nothing else.
BG2 is still my favorite game. Part of the reason I'm playing Dungeon Siege is so I've played it before DS2 comes out. Makes no fucking sense, I know, but that's me. The stuff Roberts has said for DS2 does make it sound appealing. Fallout 3 will at worst be playable, I think.

Icewind Dale 2 was very cool, except that I somehow got sidetracked right after I found the golem and the board game in the ice castle. I need to finish it sometime.
Yet no burning desire to do so, eh? Me too. It's not a bad game, and you can DL Weimar's Ease of Use mod to fix a lot of it.

Morrowind is insanely good despite the fact that the only character from the game that I can think of off the top of my head is Barenziah (who is nothing more than a character in one series of in-game novels). Who was the ruler of the land? Who was I fighting against? How many thousands of subquests was I embarking on at the moment I finished the first quest actually related to the plot (which I forget completely)? No idea. Something tells me that I should consider that sort of thing a negative.
See, for Morrowind, it isn't. Who cares? It's a whole different feel than other games, IMO. It almost feels like somebody else is playing the main storyline, and your guy just sort of drifts in and out as it suits him. You're like Wedge Antilles, man, let Luke worry about who the hell the bad guys are and their leader really is. Just get your due whenever and wherever you want.
