D20: good for some things, bad for others. So far I've been pretty impressed with Spycraft...and that's about it. Everything AEG makes is great, though. I haven't read Mutants and Masterminds. Half of us go to Gen Con every year, I'm in the half that gets to stay here and watch Red Sox games while they're gone. I went to a few cons in the south when I was in HS, but I didn't like them much. The 4 hour timeslot isn't long enough to learn a new game, and it's not much for playing a good adventure with an old game, either.
I take whatever system, make up some house rules, set down campaign specific character creation, and write everything myself. It's a brutal amount of work, but players appreciate quality...which is why we don't play RPGA mods.

Well if you like Spycraft, which I do as well, my guess is that you'd really like MnM. Basically think HERO without all the arbitrary formulas, but with even better production quality than the Spycraft book. It also gets rid of Hit Points, which I really like, especially for a supers game. Here's a pdf preview if you're interested: http://www.mutantsandmasterminds.com/files/mnm_preview.pdf |
