just curious if you've put the two together to play any superhero rpgs?
I played Marvel back when you could have "Shift-Y Flight." Right now one of our Tuesday games is GURPS Supers, but I'm not in that. I'm in a small HERO sci-fi game on Wednesdays, but no Champions. We have like four groups here who all revolve through different kinds of games on different days, but right now no-one is playing the three I want to try: Shadowrun 3rd, Legend of the Five Rings, or Champions.
i really like the somewhat newish mutants and masterminds, so much so in fact that i'm working as a volunteer for green ronin at gencon.
D20: good for some things, bad for others. So far I've been pretty impressed with Spycraft...and that's about it. Everything AEG makes is great, though. I haven't read Mutants and Masterminds. Half of us go to Gen Con every year, I'm in the half that gets to stay here and watch Red Sox games while they're gone. I went to a few cons in the south when I was in HS, but I didn't like them much. The 4 hour timeslot isn't long enough to learn a new game, and it's not much for playing a good adventure with an old game, either.
I take whatever system, make up some house rules, set down campaign specific character creation, and write everything myself. It's a brutal amount of work, but players appreciate quality...which is why we don't play RPGA mods.
