There's nothing like sitting there in your cap and gown, the band playing that graduation song, the dean making a thouroughly depressing speech about budget cuts, and savoring the sweet taste of victory. You've done it! You've passed the toughest microbiology classes given to Undergraduates (and a couple grad-level courses, too) and passed! All the lectures, badly written journal articles, nail-biting exams, they're all done!
Then you get the notice you've still got some dipshit little math breadth requirement you still need to finish right as you're packing to leave the state.
Long and short of it: I need to take an online course, and since my plans for the next year make lugging around a tower and monitor unfeasible, I must enter the murky and unknown (and as far as I know, unupgradeable) waters of laptop computers.
Anyone here have suggestions about brands to avoid, accessories that suck, heat sinks that sterilize your gonads, etc? I'm not looking for a 133+ edgy top-of-the-line platform, just something that would run GTA3 decently. Especially for under $1000.
