The 'effect' I was trying to go for there was to tie the end up with how the beginning started... yeah, I probably fucked that up and it came off a bit too clumsy.

However, the days of getting away with something like that are coming to a close. From your review it sounds like their game runs like shit anyway, so I can't say I'm surprised they're trying to cut corners where they can...

There was one scene where that being turned off for bodies came off as kind of cool -- there is an Arab guy browsing books in the library, and I was changing through my weapons right next to him. He freaked out when I switched to the machine gun, whipped out his own gun and started shooting me. I was able to kill him, but as I didn't have a silencer I figured that the cops probably heard it and would be up to arrest me. At the time I wasn't sure if the police just seeing me over a dead body was enough for them to take me to jail, so I used the shovel on the Arab guy's corpse and knocked him into and then through the bookshelf and wall. Three policemen eventually did make it up the stairs and into the room, but all that they saw was a big pool of blood and part of the guy's hand that I couldn't fully knock into the scenery. That sort of circumstantial evidence would appear to not be enough to charge you with anything in the game.
