Is any of this ringing any bells? I played this game constantly, along with Zork, when I was a dorky kid. I wouldn't mind finding it again, so I can play it and discover that it sucks more than I thought.

There's a compendium of all the text adventures which are sitting on the IF Archive right here. I tried doing some digging with the search engine on that site, but nothing came up that seemed to be it. As it turns out, though, only IF that is actually on that archive will be indexed -- that includes some stuff like Scott Adams's adventures (as he has said that it's OK) but not any of the Infocom games. So if this Black Orb Dragon game is a commercial release, then it's probable that it won't have any info on it.

Do you know the approximate year it was released? Also, what system did you play it on?

Thanks, I'll check that out. I tried looking through some "history of text adventure games" site, but it was by title, so it didn't help me. I played that game on the IBM PCjr, around 1984. I don't know if it was new or not; I have a feeling we got it as a copy (OMG WAREZ) through friends of my father, I don't recall seeing an official game disk. But, those were the days when they told you to make a backup copy of the game and play using the backup, so perhaps we did have a real game disk somewhere.
