Has any game even come CLOSE to filling up an entire DVD yet? I mean, besides Eternal Destiny Conquest of course.


Supposedly Xenosaga is on some sort of weird extra-space-allowed DVD format. I hadn't looked into it too closely, but apparently the game is very sensitive towards scratches, which would make sense. Dreamcast GDs were the same way, after all; the were jam-packed CDs that had big problems with scratching because of the lack of error correction.

I don't get the big deal, though. So what if there were multiple DVDs? Every promotion-filled "special edition" bullshit DVD rerelease of every shitty movie nowadays comes on two DVDs, and some of the more hardcore Criterion ones (like Brazil) come on THREE. Provided the PS2 can handle multiple DVD games, there's no reason not to split it up. It's not like people aren't going to play, say, FFXII because they have to swap discs.

Speaking of FFXII, when is that slated for release, and who are the guys working on it again? I know one did Front Mission and another did FFT and Vagrant Story, but I can't remember the names offhand.
