The problem here is that we have no system whereby Johnny 12-year-old has to click 'I am 18 or older' to continue onto the site. As long as we don't have that, distraught soccer mommy can sue the living fuck out of us and easily get the ISP to shut us down.
We have to obey the letter of the US law here, and make a reasonable effort to dodge lawsuits.
US law says we can host porn, and provided we do the above my ISP does not care - they're old-timer UNIX admins who basically see themselves as bandwidth resellers on a personal scale. Their principle, if any, is 'don't make us work.'
