Does anyone here have recent experience with gaming on Linux? by Mischief Maker 05/03/2025, 5:58am PDT
I liked XP and 7, I barely tolerate 10. Windows 11 sounds like everything I hate about 10 intensified. And there are vaguely work-related reasons to want to avoid a freemium spyware OS due to client info security. I doubt my clients want their financials being used to train AI.

I read something that said anti-cheat in competitive AAA games is the main thing that interferes with running things in Linux. Is that true? Does this mean my obsession with DRM-free games can pay off?

I'm not a "computer guy" but I do know how to manually choose an install path without relying on Steam or GOG Galaxy to do it for me, and I actually prefer manually updating my drivers. Are there additional hurdles much beyond that to using Linux?
