Just kidding. I'm going to ask a stupid question, and I will assume you are acing the technical parts. Some interviewers want your answers to be in the form of the "star" method. Situation, Task, Action, Result. I've heard stories of people who didn't know that was the expected format, so they start answering questions like a, you know, normal human would and then they don't get the job because the interviewer can't easily put the given answers in those boxes. There is a ton of information about it out there if this isn't something you've encountered before. Just throwing it out there. I guess that was not a question.
Interviewing in our industry is absolute garbage. With just the people that I know who are looking for work, I could create the greatest small startup of all time (I include you in this). Two of the greatest principle developers that I've ever met are looking and loads of designers, QA, product managers, etc. If I could convince a venture capitalist to give me $10 million, I'd... well to be honest, I'd fuck it all up. I'd rent the exact floor that Ion Storm used and then have the company be 100% remote. But the tech chops would be there. |
