| Real talk: nobody but NAMBLA members and Sam Altman has ever wanted an AI that sounded like a young boy. If you choose this option, you should get an immediate visit from the FBI, plus the correct voice, which is the normal human female one.
I had to deal with this shit on my GPS today and it just enraged me. The first rule of being a dad is you never, ever take directions from children, and that includes electronic ones. The right voice, the voice that everyone wants, is a white woman, late 20s, high-pitched but not too high pitched. And without the note of rage that an actual woman would have while giving you directions. Nobody wants a sassy black woman voice. Nobody. Black guys don't want this either. Trust me on this. And nobody wants the low-picthed female voice that sounds like it's from a pack-a-day smoker. I don't want my GPS to sound like a truck stop lot lizard. What the fuck, Apple? Why do I have to switch my nationality to British to get something that sounds like a normal human female? Aaaaargh. |
