Todd Howard's take on Fallout is shit because he's less interested in what comes by after the bombs fell than before 05/04/2024, 3:32pm PDT The biggest example of this I can think of is Drumlin Diner in Fallout 4. Presumably, someone lives, eats, and sleeps there, or at least works there. But it doesn't look like a store. 200 years after the bombs fell, Trudy can't even be fucked to remove the corpse sitting in one of the booths. Everything looks dirty. Bitch can't even be bothered to fix the windows and ceiling. Fallout 3 is the same thing, everyone knee-deep in trash and tin siding. Compare this with Shady Sands as far back as Fallout 1 which had adobe buildings, walls, and crop fields. The West Coast of Fallout looks way better than the East Coast, it's actually rebuilding. FUCK. How are they supposed to ever make a Fallout 5 on the west coast?? But Todd Howard knows what to do to make everything look dogshit brown like Fallout 3. Bethesda could never do a Fallout 1/2 remake because their artists don't know how to do post-apocalypse, they only know how to do 2 weeks after. Can you imagine how badly they'd ruin Shi Town because it was too much work to make a nice clean city in Gamebryo?
