While I was mostly happier with Part 1, especially in comparison to the Lynch disaster, one thing I hate about both films is how they make the Harkonnens monster people instead of the book's description of them being greedy to the point of absurdity.
Baron Harkonnen's supposed to live in such opulence, not H.R. Giger's asshole. The suspensor lifters are because he eats so much he's too fat to hold his own weight, not because he wants to look more like Norsferatu.
I mean give them sinister outfits, sure, but Feyd Rautha's supposed to be Paul's cousin, not a Prometheus engineer. |
