Joy! The PC I built for my dad seems to have died of a motherboard-related illness, as they described over the phone a message popped up saying, "New CPU or Memory" before going black and never giving any text again.
It probably won't be safe for me to enter their home until June, or longer depending on the new mutant strains. He doesn't game, maybe the best solution is for him to get a prebuilt.
Who are the decent manufacturers nowadays? Dell?
My dad had a stroke almost 3 years ago. I told him if he pulled through there'd be a computer waiting for him when he came back home. It does take CyberPowerPC a little while to make a system so I am a LIAR. But he got it very quickly all things considered and he loves it. My dad only plays NASCAR Racing 4, which is 20 years old, but I can at least send him racing games through Steam for him to try. There is an emotional component in all this, but CyberPowerPC will get the job done.
