Bicyclists ARE assholes. Well not all of them but, you know. by deep illiom 08/18/2017, 10:36pm PDT Having lived in Seattle and Portland, those are two of the worst cities for bicycling, but personally Seattle is the worst by a few inches. Around there, cyclists barrel down the sidewalk at 30MPH, missing people and little kids by inches. They run lights all the time and break dozens of traffic laws. I knew a fellow whose girlfriend was hit on the sidewalk, and the cyclist fled the scene after smashing into her at full speed. She was knocked unconscious, bleeding severely, and required facial reconstructive surgery because her nose was absolutely destroyed when she hit the sidewalk face-first. Shortly after she left the hospital, with her new nose and all, another cyclist hit her and busted her new nose. So this fellow, the boyfriend was on the scene at the time and grabbed the bike dipshit and held him there for the cops. Said two wheeler was a scruffy surly shitbag who possessed a gleaming new-like fixie bike but he didn't have a job, or insurance, or any money, so -- their situation was "good luck with all that". They always ride off when they hit you. Had it happen to me in PDX. The total disregard for anybody else on the street and laws these kinds of cyclists get away with in West Coast cities is astounding.
