Here's a breakdown in The National Review. Is that too liberal for you?

The ethics complaint from Trump you refer to was voted down by the ethics board. He also filed a defamation suit against one of his victims. It was shot down and Trump was forced to pay legal fees to the victim because it was found to be a SLAPP suit. Basically a lawsuit whose purpose isn't to win, but to intimidate the plaintiff with potential legal fees and make them drop their own suit. They're kind of illegal.

That's the thing about Trump's brilliant negotiating. From a purely financial standpoint Trump's lawyer is one of the luckiest lawyers in the world because silver spoon has always been willing to play chicken with billable hours. Bank makes him a loan, he defaults on the loan, bank sues him, his lawyer finds some excuse, ANY excuse to countersue. Bank calculates the cost of going to court verses the cost of just taking a bath on this deal and walks away, never doing business with Trump again. Anything else in "The Art of the Deal" was made up by Tony Schwartz.

That's Trump's "move." It doesn't transfer to the international arena. Unless you replace "threaten with SLAPP suit" with "threaten to invade."
