OMM used to have a ?si=3 or whatever, so maybe just load the PIDs to another site and call it "purple Caltrops forums, site 2"?
Or did we lose the ability to host multiple forums in the code conversion over to MySQL?
Either way, it's an idea no one has (apparently) thought of, so I'm voicing it.
I thought of it, this is better, though if we can just tack 20000 onto each pid. There are 21000+ old post ids, and 17000+ new post ID, so I'll end up with a gap of 4000. I want to make sure it's ok because every post, thread and forum added to the new site between March 31 and now has to fit in the space in between, and I don't know how fast they pile up.
This isn't going to take long one way or another, btw, it's the difference between having to take the site down for four hours to do a right-this-second merge or me just handing ICJ some data that can be loaded in whenever it's convenient.
No it wouldn't actually take 4 hours, but I'm not underestimating the potential for unexpected php code silliness, which I don't know about if I can't see that code.

...spent one ball game prepping the data changes, will spend this one writing regexes. That pointy code is just to test the site after I add the mergable data.
Also, why the fuck does it say 'Quentin Beck' as the author when I post? |
