Firefighters, cops, and teachers are great. But it's about fairness. They should be paid a reasonable amount, and fired if they can't do the job. The same as you or I. If they can't be fired, we end up with incompetent people doing the job, and if they're overpaid, we don't have enough people doing the job.
As far as Democratic fund-raising goes... the government shouldn't be funnelling money to fund a particular political party. And that's basically what's happening when the government overpays these special interest groups, and then they give funds to Democrats.
The Republicans are just as bad sometimes... how many defense contractors get government contracts and then turn around and donate to the Republicans? Clean government shouldn't be a partisan issue. |
