I read an article where someone was saying Mary Burke's campaign strategy was to hold back with the funds until October, then go all-out the remainder of the election. In other words, she was repeating Kerry's Blunder. Like Kerry, she allowed Walker several months to shape voter opinion, and like Kerry, she got swiftboated in the end (bullshit rumors that she was fired from Trek bicycles).
People really need to stop with the war analogies in democratic politics. It's not about one single decisive battle, it's a popularity contest, and that means building momentum which perpetuates itself.
Time to seriously look into leaving WI, scorched earth austerity does not a risk-taking vibrant economy make. |
