| I'd like to see good artists rewarded for good content, but I'm not sure even the guys who produce decent shit have the kind of output that makes it worth paying them a middling five figure income for that alone. Sure, piglike and bald exploit tax law with their charity and all that shit, but if someone with a brain and a modicum of taste did what they're doing and still couldn't afford to pay their IT bitch a proper wage there's just no sustainable market for .jpegs.
Plus I'd give no fucks if Rosenberg did black and white strips if it meant he could do one a day the way Zack Wienersmith manages to with colors. No idea if Kelly Wienersmith's holding that guy up financially with her ritzy academia salary for doin' shit in a bio lab though, despite claims that SMBC's self-supporting. Let's not be blind fanboys here. What the fuck is fifteen strips a month when the competition does something like thirty and they're all up to par? And if he can't do that because fatherhood is important, I can respect his instinct to feed his disgusting larvae like I can anyone else's but it still seems like everyone loses if this is the outcome. |
