Comic artist pledges to make 15 strips a month for 48K/year in fan 'patronage' by fucking newbie 12/09/2013, 8:12am PST
Jon Rosenberg has brass balls the size of Nevada. Admittedly he's doing this pretty openly. Admittedly the worst social justice bullshit he bothers with that I've seen is shit like calling the Ender's Game guy a fag-hater. I just can't think of an example of this shit that I've ever decided is okay when it's just the artist, but this guy has kids.

If you're gonna draw gag strips about four times a week and you're asking people to give you money, fuckin' fine, but maybe do that until you hit thirty or so and not forever, and while you're at it have the spine to live off a minimal amount of other people's money per month in your goddamn studio apartment if this is what you want your life to be. Maybe don't struggle to pay a mortgage with unstable income that could dry up faster than a soused Irishman who just found Christ because your output turns to shit or all your rabid fans die of AIDS, these are your fucking children you're supporting by holding out a tin cup in the street in exchange for doing a little dance. Why not stop and think a bit after you knock some bitch up? Why not get a job?

Even if you start drawing commissions at $100 a pop (very possible in the right market), that's still feeding your family with only what you can kill and eat yourself instead of living on the kindness of strangers, since working for THE MAN is so fucking bad. Is it because you can't, in addition to being ethically fucked coming and going for your use of panhandling as a visible means of support for your fucking kids?
