Especially if you really want to feel like you're trying to steer a ship but can't tell where the weather and the winds are gonna take you because it is outside the abilities of even a good leader. Sometimes, France just conquers half the world or something, but you're so busy trying to not die of tapeworm and keep the church from eating everything you built or whatever that you're not going to be able to pay attention all the time.
And it's not as insane as dwarf fortress, unless you're playing Victoria anyway. |
