And ultimately this video was more notable for being amusing than stirring controversy. Blitzer isn't above pitting religious vs. atheist I'm sure, but not if he's going to be the punch line. If they were going for that, they would have interviewed those two types together, not had him play the clueless religious reporter and had her play the polite atheist. I also doubt this woman was going around in the wreckage screaming "Fuck God!" to give CNN the brilliant idea that she was an angry atheist who needed to be needled. I'm sure CNN wouldn't mind being involved in religious controversy, but only as an observer or mediator between pundits, not as an embarrassed reporter. |
