The whole META obsession really killed the game for me. I just want to jump in and pick who I feel like, but even the unranked games - where no one should give a shit - will flip the fuck out if you don't stick to the set team/lane composition. Take 2 seconds getting to champion selection and you're already stuck playing support. You can just ignore it and pick who you want, just be prepared for endless shrieking from players who can get ganked 4 times in 12 minutes and still never buy a ward, but are convinced everything will fall apart if your team composition is a hair less efficient than the pro's. It's like some guy freaking out at the company softball game that you don't break out a fresh ball every time one touches the ground.
I never thought it would happen, but DotA 2 is now the more casual MOBA game. |
