Reddit is trying to pour through photographs taken during the marathon. They found some kids who had backpacks and then didn't two hours later. They also found one swarthy guy who is carrying a presumably heavy backpack.
If the perpetrator(s) were American I just don't feel that they would either be that young (in the case of the first couple of guys they are talking about). I also don't feel like the guy who pulled off this crime is carrying the backpack around his wrist because it is so heavy, like the other dude. The guy who did this had his shit together.
I was looking at lists of Americans who bombed people on American soil. This isn't based on anything other than a fascination with true crime. It obviously doesn't include people who just wanted to inspire terror, like the dude who sent the Anthrax and the Beltway snipers. But....
Eric Rudolph was 30 when he started bombing people.
The Unabomber was 36.
Timothy McVeigh was 27.
George Metesky, the Mad Bomber was 37.
Kevin Harpham was 36 when he tried to blow up a MLK parade in Spokane, WA.
You can't draw any conclusions from a sample of five people. However, I think it's pretty obvious based on my findings that it was a white guy between the age of 30 and 37.
