Electronic music finally came up with a single sound that's as powerful and compelling as a distorted guitar and simultaneously discovered that halftime is the best way to enjoy a heavy sound, and an entire genre developed around this, just as a heavy guitar sound was enough to carry decades of heavy metal. Outsiders wonder how such low brow repetition can be enjoyed so passionately, and the insiders going crazy on the dancefloor/pit wonder why everyone isn't so moved by such awesome sounds and energy.
