I don't know what kind of Super Hard Games Of Hardness the gamespot reviewer has been playing, but normal mode is plenty hard enough for me. Just hard enough that I have to sit up and pay attention and I still die fairly frequently. Checkpoints are usually pretty well-spaced, so it hasn't gotten frustrating yet.
