Holy shit, Games for Windows Live by Ice Cream Jonsey 11/24/2012, 6:26pm PST I can't believe this is still a thing people do. I had forgotten why I had sworn off all games that use it. I loaded this up today. It actually let me start playing without logging into Games for Xbox Gold, even though it knew... it KNEW I wouldn't be able to save. Steam asked me for a key. Xbox Dashboard Media MSN asked me for a key. And I had to fucking type it out. Then Xbox Live Messenger needed to update (of course). Then it had me in a weird state where I couldn't start the game, but I couldn't do anything else and it didn't force a close. Then I was told that Windows Firewall has blocked some features of Games for Windows Live. Sorry, have to do this one again: Then I was told that Windows Firewall has blocked some features of Games for Windows Live. Then I got absolutely no notification that Windows Live for Games was done updating or that it was in progress. After ... a minute, I just decided to start BioShock 2 again. And I was presented with ALL THE AMAZING NEW FEATURES of Eat Shit for DONKEY.BAS. NONE of which I cared about because I didn't get to choose to run the update. And.... and then, after all this, it wanted me to login and even though I have clicked on "Remember this ID" twice, it didn't remember that ID. I still have to type in an account name and password for hotmail that I don't use for anything else. Now it wants to apply the fucking patch to BioShock 2. It couldn't have done that at any other time. And it STILL put me in that weird state where it wouldn't force a close of the game, but wouldn't let me run the game, either. So I exit... come back in..... Jesus fucking Christ, it STILL won't remember my hotmail address for me, I have to type it in each time. It WILL remember the password. Do you appreciate what Microsoft has done here? Rather than save the username and force me to type the password each time, they have come up with a system that requires me to type in the user name, but never type in the password. Like anyone else I occasionally smile at how incompetent they are, but this is just a brave new world for them. I have never seen a game so difficult to fucking play. I have never seen this level of complete incompetence. Here's the best part: I have a save game from 2010. I am on a new computer. What do you want to bet that I will go through all this and the save game won't be there? That the ONE saving grace in all this laughable, incompetent, amateur-hour horseshit won't work? Alt-tabbing back to BioShock 2.... Playing a game...... Yep. My old save games were never stored anywhere. All this shit, all this nonsense, and it never bothered to actually save my save games. I mean, I was happy to play the game from the start. A HALF-HOUR AGO. There is absolutely no fucking point to GfWL. I would love to find everyone who worked on Games for Windows Live and send them an e-mail every single day until they left the software industry. To a MAN they are all pieces of shit that should kill themselves. the dark and gritty...Ice Cream Jonsey!
