Episode 2 by Mischief Maker 10/29/2012, 8:39pm PDT Man, the game sets up these spooky spooky locations, I really get on the edge of my seat, then the violins shriek and its a fat logger in a foam ballcap! Tension gone. I'm going to guess the twist right now for posterity. Don't tell me if I'm right or wrong. This is basically a grown up Neverending story. When Alan throws his hissy fit at his wife for suggesting he write a novel and trips outside, he actually gave himself a concussion and the game from then on is a dream. The next story Alan is going to write should be about this town, but his insecurities make that story unlikely to happen. Hence the "Darkness," equivalent to the Neverending Story's "Nothing," starts taking the residents of this town one by one. If Alan Wake stops writing, like if Bastion stops dreaming, the town is going to be swallowed up, and this game is the equivalent of Atreiu's quest to kickstart his imagination. Veil lady might be Gmork the wolf monster assisting the darkness, but she's more likely ultimately a good guy, sending Wake from inspiring horror moment to inspiring horror moment. The plot has me interested, but the gameplay is such a bummer that if I've screwed myself out of the true ending by missing a couple pages, I'll just watch it on youtube.
