I found it bizarre and discrediting that he thought an "infosec czar" (one of the stupidest and most ineffectual solutions to any problem, ever) was a good idea, while an intelligent network (which has been hugely successful even in its present & limited form) was "loony".

I missed the Intelligent Network idea in there. Is that the "Treat End Users Like The Dummies They Are" plan or the "Pry PCs From Their Cold Dead Hands" plan? :(
