Inspired by reading these articles with insights on how to beat impossible difficulty.
I forgot how ridiculously imbalanced Psilons (overpowered) and the cats (underpowered) are.
I still think no other 4X game has gotten the exact right amount of strategic complexity that MOO 1 nailed (all it needs is some expanded diplomacy options and AI that isn't insane).
I must be the only MOO fan who got bored fiddling with MOO 2's logistics and broken map distance (they shrunk galaxy size but kept the old engine and fuel techs). The only thing I enjoy more is the early to mid game combat when fleet sizes are small enough to manage.
They really need to make another entry with MOO 1's strategic simplicity and MOO 2's ambition for more detailed combat. Someone get the new XCOM team on this. |
