| It's bad in the obvious ways, with a few outright howlers (a subway tunnel through the center of the Earth that takes 17 minutes), but a pretty competent wall-to-wall action movie otherwise. I think they (Len Wisemen or the writers, I don't know) mostly ignored the movie they were remaking and used it as an excuse to redo a bunch of ideas from other movies arguably better - the I, Robot robots, the Minority Report freeways, the Fifth Element vertical cities. Whenever they do reference the original it's in the most grudging, graceless way possible. Aside from being completely hollow and giving me a headache it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. | ||||
