I have it, but I haven't launched it yet. Are these screenshots applicable?
Because those are gorgeous.
Let me take you back to a time when Mortal Kombat 3 came out. Everybody was "digitized." It looked like this:
That's blocky because the original came didn't work at a resolution of 500 pixels, but stay with me for a moment. It looked great. In order to get to the 3D games we have today, fighting games first had to look like this:
That looks like shit. But whatever, with each passing game the Virtua Fighter series looked better and better. The same is true for all 3D games.
However... people didn't automatically stop liking the look of 2D. Not everyone. With the graphics I see there for Gemini Rue, it captures a time where adventure games looked just fine, and where one guy could still bring it all together.
Let me load it up. Maybe the screenshots don't tell the whole story. But that looks a bit like the Blade Runner adventure game, which was marvelous to look at.
