When they say "evil Opie" they mean stuff like this.
He did that for no reason. Or maybe the reason was because it was a pretty decent looking cake that belonged to a homeless man, and therefore it must be destroyed. Watch money from sympathetic watchers fall directly onto the cake within seconds, they had it prepared because they knew Opie was going to do that as soon as he said the words "wait put the cake on the ground for a second." Also there was the time that Linda Lovelace died in a car accident, and her sister was doing interviews (trying to whore for donations of course "to pay for the funeral") and Opie spent 5 minutes playing car crash noises with Reading Rainbow sound effects and Picard going NOOOOOOOOOOOO before big glass shattering crash and so on.
