tangled by sdroa jists 02/15/2012, 1:14am PST I suppose there are a small number of big selling points for this movie: mandy moore as a really cute cgi girl, I mean like babyfuck cute, not actually 18 year old girl cute humor that is only about 10% pop culture references and 90% genuinely funny, which is good no fucking talking animals the songs, while being too frequent, do not grate on you nice action and effects and yea it actually makes more sense and gives more purpose to the original fable of whatsherface itshardtospell rapunzel. it plays with gender stereotypes without trying too hard to turn the female main character into fucking neo or make all the thugs and ruffians into cross dressers or any stupid shit like that. they also show an old woman falling to her death, so that's cool. I was expecting this movie to be as bland and forgettable as all the other recent disney movies but this was actually pretty ok. I still don't regret missing most of the other (non-pixar) dogshit disney has been releasing lately, but this is a baby step in the right direction.
