cons right off the bat: voice acting and cutscenes are douche chillingly horrific. there is also a shitload of tiny kinks and bugs, they are minor but they really yank you out of immersion. the island looks nice but clearly the game is lacking production values everywhere else across the board. fast travel is extremely limited (or maybe it's because I'm only at act 2) and a lot of the skill up talents are retardedly weak (a 5% damage increase on my knife that does 20 damage that equals........)
but, the game has a lot going for it. over realistic zombie survival and coop simulator, stalker style, with continuous character progression, a large sprawling area with tons of side paths, interior areas sprinkled everywhere, tons of rewards for exploration. also: playing an azn chick who jump kicks zombies and then beats their heads in while they scramble around on the ground is worth 5 points to the score just by itself. dying has consequences without totally fucking your character over. basically this is a lot like the mmo I would have made, "grinding" is a joy not a chore and you get to do flying jump kicks to packs of zombies and follow it up by throwing a grenade at the pile |
